I had to purchase it through amazon and did not receive a CD version but simply downloaded it from the Web. I cannot address this as my Acer PC did not come with Corel Word Perfect Office downloaded on the hard drive. As far as I know it won't interfere with X6. After you install you can remove the older version through Windows Control Panel or keep it. Do it for your macros, templates and custom keyboard also, if you have them in places other than the default WP locations. However, you will need to go into the "Tools", "Settings", and "Files" drop down menus and change the location of your default document file to where you keep your data, otherwise you will have to work through your directories to find them every time you use the program. If you are just asking if WP X6 will install over your existing WP9 and not destroy your data, the answer is yes. Otherwise if you have the disks and call or email Corel they will probably help you. That works with installing older version of Windows and maybe with WP. If WP9 is not installed, and the X6 version is an upgrade and needs the previous version, you may try putting the WP9 installation disk in your CD player and direct WP X6 to the cd drive when it asks for the location of your program.
